Hamilton Mountain NDP Member of Parliament Scott Duvall
First elected to Parliament in 2015, Scott is a community leader who has lived and worked in Hamilton Mountain for over two decades. Scott currently serves as the NDP’s official critic for Pensions, Seniors, Labour and the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario in addition to serving as the deputy critic for Veterans issues. Prior, to entering Parliament, Scott served the people of Hamilton as a City Councillor for Ward 7. In his nine years as a Hamilton City Councillor (2006-2015), Scott was a strong advocate for safer neighbourhoods, improved roads and sewers, better transit, more affordable housing and decent jobs.
Before becoming a city councillor, Scott was a Steelworker and President of USW Local 5328, where he helped save hundreds of good jobs and pensions at Stelwire during the bankruptcy and subsequent sale of Stelco Inc. The values Scott learned on the shop floor are reflected in his unyielding support for Hamilton’s working people.
Scott has also served on the United Way of Burlington & Greater Hamilton’s Board of Directors. He is also a committed supporter of Hamilton Food Share, Mountain Kidz Klub and the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre.
